Project Co-ordinator and secretariat
The Co-ordinator is assisted by an Assistant Co-ordinator and a team of administrative, secretariat and project management staff. Technical and specialist scientific support is provided by the Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science (Cefas), Defra's Fisheries Executive Agency.
Steering Committe (SC)
The Steering Committee is composed of senior representatives from all partner organisations. They are the officers who are responsible for national fisheries research programme management/funding.
The Steering Committee meets 1-2 times annually, synchronised with the activity and output of the WPMG. The co-ordinator is responsible for preparing the meetings and managing and co-ordinating any follow-up actions.
Work Package Management Group (WPMG)
The WPMG is chaired by the Co-ordinator and cinprises the leader and/or co-ordinator of each work package. Other partners who do not hold work package leadership attend the WPMG meetings as appropriate. The WPMG is the main technical working group where decisions are made to ensure that the project fulfils its objectives.
The WPMG meets 1-2 times per annum to discuss the progress of the work packages and to make decisions on how to fulfil the objectives and aims of MariFish.
Observer Group
Three international/multinational bodies have joined MariFish as Observers:
