Partner 11: Cyprus. Research Promotion Foundation

The Research Promotion Foundation of Cyprus (RPF), founded in 1996, is the competent public authority responsible for the development, implementation and management of all national research programmes in the Republic of Cyprus. It is governed by a 12 member Board of Directors, appointed by the Council of Ministers.

The RPF has a number of activities, which fall into two broad categories:

1. The development, funding and monitoring of national research programmes.
2. The promotion of the participation of Cypriot researchers and organisations in European/International research activities (EU Framework Programme, COST, INTAS, ESF, EUREKA, bilateral R&D agreements).

The RPF has overall responsibility for the coordination of activities relating to the Sixth Framework Programme. It coordinates the network of National Contact Points and Cypriot representatives within the various Programme Committees, and provides information, advice and assistance to researchers and organisations.
